Contributions to our general fund are used to support our ongoing ministry (program, facilities, salaries, equipment, mortgage). We tithe (give the first 10%) to our general fund equally between our other "expressions" of church the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and our Southern Ohio Synod of the ELCA. These associations serve statewide, nationally, and globally to provide seminaries, social service agencies, military chaplaincies, missionaries, etc. We also have numerous funds (often called restricted because they are restricted solely to the purpose of the fund) such as our Hands-on Mission fund, Capital Improvement fund, Memorial Fund, Mission Endowment Fund, and Pastor's Discretionary Fund. A complete list of current funds established by the Council can be requested of the Church Office. Gifts made without designation will go into the general fund.
Yes! The church has a Charles Schwab brokerage account to which you can transfer your stock. The church will cash it out and allocate your gift as you instruct. For more information, please contact the Church Office to be put in contact with the congregational Treasurer.
